Gillette to Sell Right Guard

Soap maker Dial Corp. has agreed to acquire several deodorant brands from Procter & Gamble Co.’s Gillette division, including Right Guard, Soft & Dri and Dry Idea, for about $420 million. The deal is expected to be complete by the first quarter of 2006. The Henkel Group, the German consumer-products maker that owns Dial, said the brands posted 2005 sales of $275 million. About 80 percent of the sales are generated in North America....
